A Two Minute Soup to Rejuvenate Your Body

©2003 Dr. Donald Schnell

When you are having a salad for lunch or dinner in warm weather and
don't necessarily crave hot soup, this innovative recipe for
uncooked miso soup will be especially pleasing.

You can enjoy miso soup for the alkalinity it brings to your blood,
as well as the flavor. It's a highly therapeutic food in the diet,
especially since most typical cooked diets are acidic. All meats and
all grains except buckwheat and millet, all sugary products, breads,
pastas, cheeses, coffee, tea, sodas and all processed foods cause an
acidic bloodstream.

Depression, irritability, excess weight, lethargy, headaches,
arthritis, general aches and pains, hair loss, wrinkles and
premature aging are just the tip of the iceberg of the illnesses
that result when your blood is acidic, rather than healthfully
alkaline.

A raw food diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds quickly
restores alkalinity to the blood. The same is true for the highest
spiritual diet – the fruitarian diet, which consists of all fruits,
including the vegetable fruits: avocado, tomato, bell peppers,
olives, zucchini and other squash.

Take some time during the summer months to experiment with these
diets and experience the results. You will feel immediate well being
and an increase in energy. Another predictable benefit is that it
will be impossible to hold onto the fat on your body!

Slowly, over time, as you persist to eat more raw foods than cooked,
you will find that keeping your bloodstream alkaline is one of the
untold secrets to health. In this rarified realm that so few
experience, there is neither illness nor fear of illness. You live
pain free, without excess weight, and with an abundance of energy.

By the way, miso contains an enzyme that ushers radioactivity from
the body.

This is one of the easy raw food recipes you can rely on as you make
the transition to the increasingly popular, rejuvenating lifestyle
of raw foods.

Miso Soup
2 cups water
1 small clove garlic (optional)
Juice of one small lemon
2 Tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 Tablespoons Namashoyu or other unpasteurized Japanese soy sauce
˝ inch chunk unpeeled ginger
1 Tablespoon mellow light miso paste

Blend all ingredients until liquefied. Garnish with sliced green
onion tops, chopped cilantro, or shredded daikon radish. Miso and
unpasteurized soy sauce are available at natural food stores or
Asian markets.

Serves 2-3.

So…drink your miso soup often, and enjoy the benefits!
