The Pharmaceutical Industry's Latest Gold Mine

© By Lena Sanchez

If you are looking for more money 'make up something' that
will affect the most people and solve the problem. Sounds
smart, right? In business maybe, but in medicine 'it's not smart'
but a pattern that has developed over the last couple of decades.

I've watched PMS, PMDD, AADD and various other
happening's, created from bad diets, lack of minerals and
nutrients in our foods, sleep deprivation and a rush-rush
society, become a disease and the medical world mysteriously
came up with a cut, burn or poison treatment for these so
called diseases. The latest really gets to me as it is going to
involve millions and maybe billions of people who will be
putting out money for prescriptions that most cannot afford
and the stress of not affording them will do even more harm,
without realizing that being unable to afford them could
save their life!

In my twenty years of taking blood pressures of thousands
of patients in doctor's offices the most common blood
pressure reading was 120/80 to 130/90 and that was
considered normal and okay. Now seemingly and suddenly the
medical profession has been led into panicking people with
what I consider to be false information and/or prescribing
treatment for pre-hypertension blood pressures ranging
120/80 -139/89.

What happened? I have seen nothing anywhere that can
scientifically back up the latest blood pressure changes!

I believe the pharmaceutical industry just found a gold mine
and made the physician's their miners digging the gold for
them!

I don't buy into it as 8 out of 10 people will fall in that range
and will be put on medications that comes with the message,
"Hypertension medication has not been proven to prevent
heart attack or stroke."

Okay, then why should a person take them? After all stroke
and heart attack is the reason given for lowering blood
pressure… Let me count the reasons why you should.

Hmm, I can't find one! But the reasons NOT to take
hypertension drugs are many!

Taken from the company's own package inserts;

Ace Inhibitors - Accupril, Altace, Capoten, Monopril,
Zestril, Prinivil, Univasc - side effect listed are; Cough
(dry hacking, continuing), rash, dizziness, lightheadedness,
headache.

Alpha Blockers - Cardura, Hytrin, Minipres - side effects
listed are; Chest pain, dizziness or fainting (more likely if
you drink alcohol); fatigue; fluid retention; vision problems.

Beta Blockers - Betapace, Blocadren, Corgard, Inderal,
Kerlone, Levatrol, Lopressor, Normodyne, Sectral, Tenormin,
Toprol, Trandate, Viskin, Zebata - side effects listed are; Anxiety;
depression, constipation; diarrhea, dizziness, dry eyes; fatigue;
headache; impotence, insomnia, itching; muscle cramps; nausea;
rash; swelling; stuffy nose; vivid dreams.

Calcium Channel Blockers - Adalet, Adalet CC, Calan,
Cardiazem, Dilacor, Dynacirc, Norvasc, Plendil, Procardia,
Sular, Tiac, Verelan - side effects listed are; Constipation;
dizziness; fatigue; flushing; gastrointestinal problems; gum
problems; insomnia; nausea; swollen extremities; urination
problems.

Diuretics - Thiazide:Diuril, HydroDIURIL, Hygroton, Thalidone,
Zaroxolyn, Indolines: Lozol, Loop: Bumex, Lasix,
Potassium-sparing: Aldactone, Dyazide, Maxzide, Midamor -
side effects listed are; Diarrhea; dizziness; headache; impotence;
increased sun sensitivity; loss of appetite or libido; rash;
upset stomach.

I personally have seen even more side effects that aren't listed!

Is there dangerously high blood pressure. Yes, and if prolonged
it can be dangerous. First the reason for the hypertension should
be ascertained and if it's a physical problem that requires serious
treatment so be it, but if there is no real reason found, as is 95%,
first treatment tried should be diet and natural herbs and nutrients
before going the chemical route.
